Mailchimp Canceled Stephan Molyneaux

Mailchimp Canceled Stephan Molyneaux

Cancel culture claims another victim in Stephan Molyneaux.

Years ago, I recall reading In Fifty Years We’ll All Be Chicks by Adam Carolla. At the time it was alarmist and unrealistic. Yet silicon valley has taken over much of modern life to the point where the whims of some cat lady screaming about racism can get someone canceled from modern life.

Twitter can ban you at their whim and your voice is cut off from the modern community square.

Kevin Hart was dropped from the Oscars over tweets he sent nearly a decade ago using terms that were common place for its time. Yet we judge people in 2013 with the standards of 2019.

Mailchimp can cut out your livelihood by canceling your account, stopping you from selling to your email list.

YouTube, with its increasing list of community guidelines, can demonetize you for a message they find “problematic.”

What’s problematic is all these people who are getting their livelihoods threatened or canceled. This is the real-world retelling of 1984.

Now we have self-censorship on social media as people who earn a large audience fear speaking out. They wont say the more controversial talking points. As they grow, they’ll become increasingly safe for fear of being canceled by a small minority who control the context of the discussion.

This is the part where I’m supposed to explain who Stephan Molyneaux is, but that’s not the point. He is not a racist or an advocate for white power. That’s the point. Yet he was still struck down extra judiciously without a chance to respond. Without any further research.

The fact is that 2020 is an election year, and Twitter, Mailchimp and more are playing dirty as they lay the groundwork for the political minefield.

The fact remains that fewer and fewer people are speaking against this. Silence conveys consent. The masses are complicit in the slow burn of free speech. Left unchecked, this country will be a dystopian shadow of its once former greatness.

So, I’ve started this new blog, Colt Sigma. And I intend to have my voice be heard. This is my first post, but it is not my first blog. This is merely my anon account where I can be free to speak without fear of social ramifications. Because that is the world that social media is building for us now.

By canceling, doxing and attacking those who dare to speak out, they are encouraging anonymity or group think. These are your choices. Will you bend the knee and stick to only safe areas of discussion? Or will you stand up to the bullies and share your opinion, no matter how controversial?

2020 is off to one hell of a start. Threats of WW3. The loss of Niel Pert. Canceling Stephan Molyneaux. It is an election year. There will be battles. This is the year where we must battle for the right to speak freely. This is our year where we will decide what course America will take. You must decide where you stand.
